Mount Olive, NC - The North Carolina Wesleyan men's and women's track & field teams turned in a strong showing at the 2025 Trojan Relays hosted by the University of Mount Olive this past weekend, highlighted by standout performances from
Kamiyah Wooten and
KeSondra Pickett.
Kamiyah Wooten earned USA South Female Track Athlete of the Week honors after a dominant outing in both the 100m and 400m events. Wooten captured 1st place out of 26 competitors in the 400m, clocking a time of 55.81, which currently ranks 6th nationally, 1st in the South Region, and 1st in the USA South. Her time also established a new USA South Conference record.
Wooten also posted a strong 11.93 in the 100m, placing herself 6th nationally, 1st in the South Region, and 1st in the USA South once again—further cementing her status as one of the top sprinters in Division III.
Fellow Bishop KeSondra Pickett was named USA South Female Track Rookie of the Week after impressive efforts in the 100m and 400m events. Pickett finished 19th out of 32 in the 100m with a time of 12.67, a mark that currently places her 3rd in the USA South and 27th in the South Region. She also recorded a 1:02.19 in the 400m, finishing 12th out of 26 at the meet.
