Women's Track Posts Strong Results at Big Orange Invite

Knoxville, TN - The North Carolina Wesleyan women's track & field team made its second trip of the season to Knoxville, Tennessee this weekend, competing at the Big Orange Invite hosted by the University of Tennessee. Facing a strong field of Division I and II programs, the Battling Bishops held its own with several standout performances, highlighted by a nationally ranked time in the 400 meters.

Sophomore Kamiyah Wooten had an impressive day on the track, placing fourth overall in the 400m with a time of 55.20, a new personal record that ranks ninth in NCAA Division III this season. Wooten also placed eighth in the 100m dash (12.05) and ninth in the 200m (24.33), showcasing her speed and consistency across all three sprints.

Fellow sophomore Ti'asia Bryant clocked a time of 12.35 in the 100m and 25.66 in the 200m, placing just outside the top 10 in both events. Freshman KeSondra Pickett competed in the 100m (13.03) and attempted the triple jump but fouled on all attempts.

In the relays, the Bishops' 4x100m squad of Wooten, Bryant, Bryant, and Pickett took third place with a time of 48.60, continuing a strong relay season.
