Hudson Takes on Assistant Coach Role with Bishop Lacrosse

Rocky Mount, NC - J'Vonte Hudson is set to begin his second year at North Carolina Wesleyan in a new capacity, joining the Battling Bishop lacrosse staff as an assistant coach with a primary focus on recruiting.

Hudson transitions into the lacrosse program after previously serving as an assistant football coach at Wesleyan, where he worked with the secondary unit. Known for his energy, leadership, and dedication to student-athlete development, Hudson brings a versatile background that will benefit the growth of Bishop lacrosse.

A native of Louisiana, Hudson enjoyed a successful professional football career that included being selected in the fourth round of the 2022 LFA Draft (Mexico). He also played in the Indoor Football League (IFL) with the San Diego Strike Force and in the Champions Indoor Football (CIF) league with the Southwest Kansas Storm.

He is a 2019 graduate of Southern University, where he earned his Bachelor of Arts in History. Hudson's collegiate playing career began at McNeese State before transferring to Kilgore College, where he completed his Associate of Arts degree in 2017.

Though new to the lacrosse sidelines, Hudson's commitment to relationship-building, recruiting strategy, and mentoring is expected to be a major asset to the Bishops.

"Coach Hudson has been a tremendous addition to our staff," said Director of Athletics Aaron Denton. "His work ethic, energy, and ability to connect with young people have already made a significant impact. We are confident that his recruiting abilities and passion for helping student-athletes succeed will translate very well to the lacrosse program."

As the Battling Bishops continue to build a strong foundation, Hudson's emphasis on student development and competitive excellence will play a key role in the program's future success.
