The N.C. Wesleyan cross country teams hit the road to Wilmington and Charlote to compete at the UNCW Beach Blast and Queen City Invitational events. In Wilmington, both men and women would run in the 5000 meters, and
Philly Barungi would come out as Wesleyan's highest finisher, doubling up his 1st place finish at the NCWU Classic. Barungi would run a 18:02:38 to place him 31st in a field of nearly 55 runners.
On the women's side, Wesleyan would have two athletes competing in
Mariah Brooks and
Kamiyah Wooten. With a time of 25:35:45, Wooten finished in the top 25 of the event, which is outsanding goig up against DI competition.
In Charlotte with a field of over 136 competitors,
Ayden Harper ran of time of 06:10:03 in the 5k for his best finish of the fall. The Battling Bishops cross country team will take a bite out of the big apple as they head to NYC for the Queensborough Invitational on October 1st.
