Jean Edge Classic Underway
Wesleyan will once again host the Jean Edge Classic with some of the top teams in the nation partaking in Rocky Mount. The tournament is dedicated to Jean Edge, a trailblazer in NCWU Athletics who coached the first-ever women's basketball team in 1976-77. Having also served as head coach of the volleyball team from 1975-77, she continued to add to her resume by beginning the softball program and coaching them from 1974-77. In fact, the Battling Bishops' softball facility, Edge Field, is named in her honor today.
