Greenwood, IN – The 2025 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District® Softball Teams were announced, with four North Carolina Wesleyan student-athletes receiving recognition for their outstanding achievements on the field and in the classroom.
Earning Academic All-District® honors for the Battling Bishops are:
The CSC Academic All-District® program honors the nation's top student-athletes with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.50 who have competed in at least 50% of their team's contests. These four Bishops were instrumental in guiding Wesleyan to a 29-win season and postseason appearance in 2025.
Holloman led the team with a .394 batting average and drove in 42 runs with thirteen doubles and six triples. Simmons provided power in the lineup with eleven home runs, 44 RBIs, and a .722 slugging percentage, while Whitfield chipped in 26 RBIs and a .472 on-base percentage. Aycock, one of the team's primary pitchers, posted a 12-6 record with eight complete games across 27 appearances and maintained a 3.46 ERA in 99.0 innings pitched.
These four student-athletes will now advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second-, and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced on June 17. The Division III segment of the program is partially supported by the NCAA to assist with awards and recognition.
