Olga Surmaj gained notoriety as the only 12-time letter-winner in the history of North Carolina Wesleyan Athletics. She played four seasons each in volleyball, basketball and softball, where her teams won a Dixie Conference Tournament Championship and a Dixie Conference Regular Season Championship. 

Surmaj was also member of teams that won two NCAIAW Division III Softball Championships (’80 & ’81) andt wo NCAIAW Division III volleyball championships (’80 &’81) with a runner-up finish in 1979. 

Additionally, she led the softball team in batting in 1980 with a .580 average and was selected to the NCAIAW All-Tournamentteam.
